Function Alarm Groups

When an alarm state is detected, alarm messages are issued to consoles and message databases.  Audible or visual alarms may also be activated.  When a tag that has been configured as part a Function Alarm Group goes into an alarm state, the response to that alarm is determined by the configuration of that Function Alarm Group.

For example, if Function Alarm Group "A" is configured to send messages only to consoles two and three and a Group "A" tag goes into alarm, the alarm message will only be sent to consoles two and three.  Other consoles on the system will display no alarm message generated by that alarm.

Annunciators

An annunciator, which is an audible or visual alarm such as a horn or a flashing red light, can also be defined as part of the Function Alarm Group. When a member tag goes into alarm, the Function Alarm Group’s annunciator is activated and remains active until the alarm has been acknowledged and resolved.
