Networking

CMXä has a networking system designed specifically to network CMXä and Windows based machines.  CMXä Net integrates tightly with the operating system allowing the systems to be a peer-to-peer or client-server based network.  CMXä NET is available for Ethernet network hardware and IP/IPX protocol in three modules, CMXä Client, CMXä Server, and CMXä GD Client.

Inter-Networking Client

The networking and connectivity capabilities of CMXä allow many opportunities for expansion and integration with other systems including NetWare, Unix, Linux, LANtastic, Windows NT, Windows 95/98 and OS/2.  Its built-in support for the ODI networking standard allows multiple protocol stacks to be loaded on each virtual machine.  In this way multiple programs or tasks can communicate via different networking protocols using a single network interface adaptor.  This allows CMXä in the LAN environment, to form the basis of a complete remote access solution, an applications server, or a communications gateway.

CMXä Server

TheCMXä Server is a highly optimized peer-to-peer network module for CMXä PC based machines.  It allows computers to be networked together to form networked multi-user clusters.  Shared resources such as disk drives and printers can be transparently accessed across the network.  Sockets can also be accessed across the network allowing for powerful Client/Server remote applications.

The CMXä Server is a full-featured peer-to-peer network and, unlike other PC networks, does not require dedicated server hardware.  It uses the multi-user and multi-tasking power of  its operating system to provide transparent networking for up to 255 computers on a single network. CMXä Server also acts as the server for MS Windows 3.11/95/98/NT Server/Client based machines.  The CMXä Server:

  • Is a full-featured peer-to-peer network
  • Provides transparent access to Disks, Printers and Sockets across the network
  • Requires no dedicated network server
  • Works with Single or Multiple Novell Approved Ethernet cards
  • Can accommodate up to 255 computers on a single network.

CMXä Enterprise Manager

CMXä Graphic Display ( GD ) Client allows Windows 95,98,NT and W2K based computers to become a full functioning virtual operating console to a CMXä Server. Multiple copies can be loaded on a single machine. GD Client also allows local applications to access the shared resources (disk drives, printers and sockets) of any CMXä Server based machine on the network.

CMXä GD Client is supplied with a standard Windows IP network driver allowing the user to take advantage of the built-in networking functions within Windows networks including dial-up, wireless and Internet based connectivity.  CMXä  Client is available in one, four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two and sight-user license packs.

  • Windows 32 Bit Graphic Display Operating Console Client for a CMXä Server
  • Multi-Session Support on a Single Workstation
  • Full VGA (640x480) , SVGA (800x600) and XGA (1024x768) VDI Support
  • FTP File Transfer Support for Remote File Transfer Services
  • Transparent access to disks, printers and socket across the network to any CMXä  Server based machine
  • Network API is available for developers to create CMXä Server aware applications.
