CMX Architecture
CMX Process Control System is an integrated set of flexible data acquisition
and control tools for developing and implementing real PC-based, DCS-like,
process control applications.
The extensions to the CMX Process Control System are highly optimized
client-server and peer-to-peer network modules running on CMX Process Control
System Advanced Server and client machines. The CMX Process Control Advanced
Server is a full-featured, powerful, redundant applications server that provides
the user with a complete redundant communication infrastructure as well as a
Data Acquisition, Continuous Control, Batch/Sequence Control, Historization and
User Interface. The CMX Enterprise Manager client computer is a full-featured
Operating or Engineering Development machine. The
CMX Enterprise
Server is a MS Windows Advanced Server running a SQL Server used for long term
data storage and retrieval.
The CMX Network groups together CMX Servers, CMX Clients, CMX Enterprise
Application Servers, CMX Explorer ActiveX Components, Printers, Routers,
Switches and IP Terminals. It utilizes Ethernet network hardware and TCP/IP
protocol. Unlike other PC networks, CMX Network does not require dedicated
server hardware. It uses the multi-user and multi-tasking power of CMX Server’s
operating system to provide transparent networking across networks.

CMX Enterprise Manager - Alarm and Event Viewer
The CMX Enterprise Server
and AE Viewer are the newest additions to the CMX Process Control System family
of products.
The CMX Enterprise
Server integrates all history data available on one or more CMX Systems
into a SQL relational database server that multiple CMX Enterprise Manager can
access locally or remotely via Internet VPN connection. The AE Viewer module
support the following feature:
- Enterprise Wide Client/Server Architecture - Alarm and Event viewer
provides easy access to data from anywhere on your plant network
- Multi-user Client Support
- Integrated Module in CMX Enterprise Manager
- Remote viewing of alarms and events. Alarms and Events Viewer may be
located outside the local CMX System, allowing remote viewing capability of
any or all CMX alarms and events.
- Real-time and Historical Alarm and Event Summary:
- Tabular Form Display
- Color Coded Chart based on Type and State Levels for easy recognition
- Acknowledge Alarm and Events to any or all CMX Servers
- Configurable User Access mode for View Only vs. Operation Mode
- Efficient Event Filtering - AE Viewer user may filter the
alarms and events based on their individual requirements.

CMX Windows COMM Service Communication
The CMX Communication Component is an add-on component for
programs that support Windows API's, to gain access to the CMX Server Communication Service
via the CMX High Performance Peer-To-Peer
Protocol Network. Applications like MS Excel, Power Point and Access would have global access to CMX real-time data, as well as on-demand,
historical, configuration or event data. It can also be used to create custom
applications in C, C++, Delphi or Visual Basic and provide access to CMX
Databases.
- Complete Access To and From all Real-Time and Historical Data and
Databases
- Built-in Global CMX Network Diagnostics and Monitoring
- Global Alarm and Message Indications
- Add on Container for Windows programs
- Custom user API interface for user created applications
